How to remove Error Doctor?

What is Error Doctor?

Error Doctor (also known as Error Doctor 2007/2008) is a rogue anti-spyware application that appeared in the Web on August 27th, 2007. Trojans and browser security holes are the main ways of Error Doctor infection. Once it infects a system, this parasite proceeds to generate massive amounts of security pop-up messages, prompting you to scan your system for spyware.

Once clicked upon, these pop-ups will open Error Doctor and start a misleading scan that displays a falsified report full of exaggerated and fake errors. This is done to scare you into buying the full Error Doctor version. If you happen to encounter Error Doctor 2007 in your system, be sure to remove it completely as soon as possible, as it may spread other malware into your PC.

Error Doctor 2008 seems to be a clone of the "2007 version", whether the parasite’s files have changed is unclear.

We also recommend blocking errordoctor [dot] com (IP 69.46.120.9) with your HOSTS file to avoid accidental infection.
