Constant Fun Ads - How to remove

Ads by Constant Fun are shown in your browser by adware. The adware, called Constant Fun, is supposed to be a suite of tools that help surf the internet, find relevant information more easily, do online shopping, and play browser games. All that it actually does is show you ads and make money from advertising to you. Constant Fun is thus not a helpful application, but an adware virus that needs to be removed. It is made by SuperWeb LLC, a company known for adware browser plugins, for example, Trendio, SunnyDay, and Wooden Seal.

Constant Fun is adware that gets installed without your consent:

What Constant Fun does

The browser is the program that controls how websites are displayed and gives you tools to interact with the online world easily. Constant Fun works as a browser extension, changing the way the browser shows websites to you. As a browser plugin, Constant Fun can modify the sites you visit, track where you go, and fill your pages with ads. Like with most excessive pop-ups, they’re a symptom of an infection.

The ads are labeled with “Constant Fun”. They promote browser games, online shopping, junkware, fake giveaways. The pop-ups are very distracting, very intrusive. They appear on top of the content of the site you’re on and in new browser tabs, they waste your time, and the content that they promote isn’t always safe. As an example, adware is often used by scammers to show fake update prompts and virus warnings, which are used to advertise fake antivirus software.

What exactly the Constant Fun ads promote might depend on the site you’re on and your browsing habits. You see, besides advertising, Constant Fun collects information on you and passes it on to advertisers:

We may use and share with third parties the information we collect from and receive about users to provide the Software to you, to monetize and improve the Software, to personalize your experience by delivering relevant content, advertising, and marketing messages, […].

Data collected about you by Constant Fun includes your IP, your browser and operating system, location, demographics, browsing habits, search queries, ads and other links that you clicked on, what you buy in online stores, and what ads are displayed to you. Basically, whatever you do online, Constant Fun can see it and exploit it.

The information collected about you by Constant Fun is shared with third parties. At the same time, third parties can track you on their own through the ads that Constant Fun shows you. So, it’s pretty bad for your privacy.

How Constant Fun spreads

You probably did not download or install Constant Fun on purpose. Constant Fun is described as a useful tool, and it’s possible to download and install it manually, but it’s extremely unlikely. Bundling is the real way that adware like Constant Fun (and a bunch of other unwanted software) gets downloaded and installed.

Bundling is when a program is distributed online as a single application, but actually has a bunch of additional software in the installer. Installing a bundler usually ends with two or three toolbars, utilities, spyware, and other junkware that you never even heard about being installed on your computer. The warnings in bundlers are usually hidden in advanced and custom settings and options, so those who install bundlers using express settings have to deal with all this bundled software being installed without any warning.

This is done on purpose, to get Constant Fun on more computers. If people are asked to allow the installation of some random program, they will probably refuse, so they’re just not asked. Many unwanted programs are installed this way, so it’s important to pay attention during installation. Look for hidden settings, advanced setup options. Deselect optional offers. Most of the time, they’re not valuable.
