How to remove BlockScanner?
What is BlockScanner?
Block Scanner is a rogue anti-spyware program from the WiniGuard family of rogues. This parasite uses downloader trojans and drive-by downloads to infect systems, and as such it is no different than most other rogues. Block Scanner intimidates the user, in hopes of making him purchase it’s “full version”.
Once inside and active, BlockScanner floods the user with popups and fake system notifications, supposedly to inform him of an infection or multiple infections present on the system. This information is invariably false and should be ignored, as should the fake scans, performed by Block Scanner at startup. These scans mark harmless files as threats, thus creating the illusion that the system is infected, and afterwards the parasite urges the user to purchase the “full version” in order to dispose of the “threats”.
Block Scanner is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and remove it immediatelly upon detection.

BlockScanner is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only BlockScanner can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads BlockScanner trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, BlockScanner offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, BlockScanner does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as BlockScanner, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install BlockScanner, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as BlockScanner, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
