AntispywareXP2009 is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only AntispywareXP2009 can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads AntispywareXP2009 trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, AntispywareXP2009 offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, AntispywareXP2009 not only does not fix the errors, but it takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as AntispywareXP2009, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install AntispywareXP2009, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as AntispywareXP2009, is nearly impossible to remove manually.

November 2nd, 2008 at 2:06 pm It seems to also affect all your search’s on search engines (like google for example). Any search you do brings up the normal links, but any of them you click on take you to a related advert page (you can see in the progress bar that it is transfering you via ‘antispywareXP2009′). When trying to uninstall ‘antispywareXP2009′ manually it always says there is a problem and you cannot continue with the uninstall before getting rid of any current or old antivirrus software (like norton etc). When you try to do this it also finds an excuse and cannot uninstall.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:24 am I am soooo angry right now. I’m a single mum of 2 teenage girls, i bought antispyware xp 2009 about 2 weeks ago. 2 days after i purchased the programme ( which i could ill afford to start with) my computer burnt and crashed. I had it looked at and was told there was a windows image file that was corrupted that was linked to the antispyware xp 2009 which in turn caused it to crash and burn. I have been looking for the last week for any support network, or contact email so i can email someone and ask for a refund. All i see are bad blogs on this programme and bad things about it, but NO contact details. I’m beginning to believe what i’m reading is true!! If anyone out there can advise me or even help me with my situation right now it would be greatly appreciated.. If not then I will be going to Consumer Affairs Here in Australia, and reporting whoever they are!!
