September 14th, 2007

What is AntiSpywareShield?

AntiSpywareShield is a rogue spyware removal programs released Septemper 13th, 2007. The most probable ways of AntiSpywareShield infection are rogue codecs and Trojans, such as Zlob.

Once functional, AntiSpywareShield generates pop-ups and false system notifications informing you of a supposed infection. These pop-ups, when clicked, lead you to a trial version of the program and you are given the opportunity to perform a free scan, which generates a false and exaggerated report, saying there are numerous threats on your system.

When you try to dispose of these threats, you are then asked to buy the full version of the program, which will enable you to proceed with the removal of the non-existant threats. Needless to say, the full version is just as fake as the trial.

When surfing to the program’s website (antispywareshield.com), you are redirected to malware-alarm.com, a clone of malwarealarm.com, the producer of such infamous rogue spyware removers as BraveSentry, PestTrap, PestCapture, DIA Remover, Spyware-Stop, Mr AntiSpy, SpySheriff , SpyTrooper and so on. The price of the program is $79.95, but if you try to navigate away from the site, the it magically drops to $29.95. Guess what? The software is not worth a penny as it is just a scam to get your credit card details and quickly rip off your money.

AntiSpywareShield is a malicious program and as such should be removed upon detection.
