What is AntiMalwareShield?

AntiMalwareShield is a rogue spyware removal programs released May 11th, 2008. The most probable ways of AntiMalwareShield infection are rogue codecs and Trojans, such as Zlob.

Once functional, AntiMalwareShield generates pop-ups and false system notifications informing you of a supposed infection. These pop-ups, when clicked, lead you to a trial version of the program and you are given the opportunity to perform a free scan, which generates false and scan reports, claiming there are numerous threats on your system.

When you try to dispose of these threats, you are then asked to buy the full version of the program, which will enable you to proceed with the removal of the non-existent threats. Needless to say, the full version is just as fake as the trial.

When surfing to the program’s website (antimalwareshield.com), you are redirected to a rogue payment system named AVSystemCare.com, after another notorious parasite. The price of AntiMalwareShield is $59.95, but if you try to navigate away from their website, it magically drops to $29.95. Guess what? The software is not worth a penny as it is just a scam to get your credit card details and quickly rip off your money.

AntiSpywareShield is a malicious program and as such should be removed upon detection.

AntiMalwareShield is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only AntiMalwareShield can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads AntiMalwareShield trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, AntiMalwareShield offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, AntiMalwareShield not only does not fix the errors, but it takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.

Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as AntiMalwareShield, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install AntiMalwareShield, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.

Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as AntiMalwareShield, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
