Have antivirus software? Your PC might be still infected!
Identitity theft malware is increasing trend according to latest Panda security research. Over 10 milion PCs are infected right now, and numbers are increasing. This malware targets your credit card details or bank logins. The approaches vary from simple keyloggers to elaborate schemes either tricking you enter this information or recognizing and loging bank pages. After this sensitive information is retrieved, they are send to specific servers and later used to empty your bank account.
Though the bad news is the fact that more than one third of these infected PCs had up-to-date antispyware solution installed. This means that many popular anti-virus solutions are not so reliable in handling identity theft parasites. Many antiviruses are hunting other parasites than keyloggers and carding applications. This is a huge drawback on having anti-virus only on your PC. We recomend having at least one anti-spyware program on PC as well and scanning your files regulary.
