Software cracks hack your system
November 5th, 2007
Researchers at TrendLabs have estimated that 2 out of 5 hacking tools have been actively downloaded by users, who try to extend trial period of commercial software. And those, saving $50 for software license usually end up spending much more in the long-term. Such tools are often downloaded via P2P networks or warez sites. What users may not know is that they get more than they bargained for – crack downloads may install malicious software on their PCs, which can then be used to steal private information, such as passwords or financial data.
TrendLabs believe that more than 16 percent of PCs worldwide are infected with hacking tools that have been downloaded along with software cracks.
