Ponemon: Off-network security is a huge problem
Ponemon, a reputable privacy and security company, has conducted a research regarding the off-network data security. The results of the research revealed that companies that leave their devices running off-network are as vulnerable as those that leave them online. The main point revealed during the survey was that companies remain at risk of losing critical, confidential corporate data if they continue to neglect off-network security.
Other results of the research included the constant confidential data leaks from the majority of companies dependent on digital data storage. According to Ponemon executives, stringent data management procedures, effective training and awareness programs, adherence to policy, and an investment in security technologies as basic as encryption would represent a quantum leap forward for many companies.
