New Trojan "Player Codec" Wreaking Havoc
July 10th, 2007
Sunbelt Software has recently spotted a new internet menace on the loose: Player Codec, a variation of Trojan DNS changer fake codec, is wreaking havoc across the Web. They have added a warning post to their blog so that security-conscious users can identify the threat and protect their computers from the new and dangerous trojan.
If you are in need of a video codec and spot Player Codec somewhere in the Internet, avoid it at all costs. This trojan will infect your system if you download and install Player Codec. We recommend downloading only reputable video codecs from reliable sources and avoid using uncertified free codec packages such as Player Codec.
