Mozilla brags about their bugfixing capabilities

August 7th, 2007

One of the executives as Mozilla claims that their company can fix any bug and patch any security vulnerability in a matter of 10 days, writes ComputerworldUK. Although the claim extends only to "critical" security holes, there is no standard as to what level of vulnerability should be regarded as critical. A debate whether Mozilla will be able to keep up the promise has sparked a wave of debates in the internet community, including doubts about Mozilla’s abilities to maintain the quality of the patches and test them properly.

Mozilla security chief Window Snyder promised to comment further on the details of the claim on Monday. However, there have been no comments as of yet, while rumors across the internet regarding Mozilla’s claim spread rapidly. After all, it could be just a smart marketing maneuver to attract more users to Firefox.
