August 28th, 2007
According to the latest press issues McAfee VirusScan 11 causes the e-mail proxy to use 100% of CPU. McAfee apoligizes that one of the latest versions of their antivirus emproxy.exe file uses 100% of CPU and service must be disabled in order to descrease the CPU usage. This only affects Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows 2000 Operating systems users. If you are unable to send or receive e-mails, if you experience long timeouts when checking mail and if your e-mail proxy uses 100% CPU utilization, you have the old version of McAfee. To fix this problem McAfee released an update immediately, so verify if you have the latest product version, which is 11.02.213 or above.
