Four worm creators charged in China

China, being notorious for its internet censorship but not for its cybercrime fighting, has charged four of its citizens for creating the Fujacks worm. The worm converted icons of infected programs into a picture of a panda burning stick-men, while at the same time stealing user names and passwords from MMO games players.

The cybercriminals may end up with a maximum 5-year term in prison for creating malware, and confessions are already starting to surface. On the more interesting side, China has decided to release their own Fujacks-removal tool instead of relying on reputable anti-malware software vendors.
