Botnet attacks eBay accounts
September 5th, 2007
According to eWeek, botnet has recently started to use hacked popular websites to attack people’s eBay accounts. By planting sophisticated trojans to the popular sites it compromised, and inserting an invisible frame that opens a page that’s also obscured from the victim, botnet connects to another server and downloads the victims’ user name/password name combinations that it uses to attempt to gain access to valid eBay accounts.
Although botnet attacks are more dangerous to larger organizations and companies, individual users’ eBay accounts are also in danger of being attacked.
