Apple fixes QuickTime bugs
November 7th, 2007
The update is ready for Apple’s QuickTime, fixing a bunch of security bugs in the software. It fixes seven flaws, six of which could allow an attacker to run unauthorized software on a victim’s PC and the seventh could be used to run Java applets and gain access to private information. The patches, released Monday are for the latest OS X as well as Windows XP and Vista.
It was Apple’s fifth QuickTime update this year and, considering the attention hackers and researchers are giving Apple, it probably will not be the last one. Previous QuickTime update, issued in July featured eight bug-fixes.
